Saffron
Saffron has been cultivated in San Gimignano since medieval times. The saffron by “Il Vecchio Maneggio” is a D.O.P. product and it is cultivated following natural methods, and traditionally dried next to live coals of local quality wood.
Saffron is packed in threads, in order to enhance its finest quality, its flavour, and its taste which has a typical bitter finish.
